My husband and I went to Wine Country in August, and were so excited this book was coming out right before our trip. I felt that considering the size of Wine Country, this book was really small (maybe too rushed for the date published?).

While it does give good information about Napa, Sonoma, etc., you can easily find all the information Fodor's provides on each city's Web site. I did read the entire book before the trip, but once on the trip, didn't refer to it once.

I love all the other Fodor's books, so I was just expecting the same detail to this one.

I'll start out by saying I enjoy reading Fodor's line of travel books. This one, like the others published is informative and easy to read. Though, it's size is a bit on the light side. There are a lot more things to do and places to stay in the Keys than this book covers, but it is a good start.
As always, I enjoy the ratings and the comments Fodor's books provide.

This is a very good, comprehensive guidebook to the Florida Keys. I have been there on many occasions, most recently 6 years ago and was looking for some updated information. It seems to cover all the pertinent spots and more and is pretty detailed in the information. i would definitely recommend this for first-timers to the keys and also veteran "conchs" since the restaurant sections are extensive and current.

Of all the major guidebooks, Fodor's "Florida Keys" is one of the best of the current offerings. This guide is excerpted from "Fodor's Florida," and is just the thing for those visiting, mostly, Key West, and the other keys along that shimmering chain of islands.

The reviews of inns, restaurants, and attractions are fair, detailed, and honestly critical. Sixty of the 208 pages are devoted to Key West and the Dry Tortugas. The section covering day sails, schooner trips, snorkeling, and kayaking options in Key West is, however, surprisingly thin -- Danger Charters and popular day trips aboard the catamarans Fury and Sebago aren't even mentioned. Decent maps are included, but there are no photographs (I like photographs).

Marsh Muirhead - author of "Key West Explained - a guide for the traveler."
