Corona Clipper, Inc., is a company who for years touted the incomparable quality of their garden tools. While their history is rather interesting, today’s manufacturing reality has unfortunately caught up with them. Since the Spanish conglomerate took them over in 2000, the concept of “quality” has somehow eluded them as well as their consumers as a number of Corona’s garden tools such as this one are now made in China. Disappointingly, it is not enough to simply wrap a big red sticker around the handle that says in big white letters “LIFETIME WARRANTY UNBREAKABLE!” only then to discover that the label is conveniently covering up the “Made In China” label that is imprinted into the cheap “forged” mystery metal. Of course, no one would ever have reason to check beneath the “lifetime warranty,” sticker unless the tool suddenly broke apart while in the grasp of your hand …and it does…and it will! When we got our tool it had a label on it that said ‘UNBREAKABLE, LIFETIME GUARANTEE’ This was not quite true in our case. We broke the tool the first day we used it. Returned it to the store we bought it from and got another, we broke that one too. After the second one broke we went with another brand.
