Not only does it have the thickest blade I've found, the handle is actually wood filled which makes it the toughest spade available....my workers haven't been able to bust one yet. The blade will fold over along a designed-in weak axis within a day of serious use, as it did for me. I shall now see if the "lifetime" warranty will be honored, or if any use of this tool on material (like soil) that is stiffer than sawdust will be considered an abuse. <br /> <br /> True, the handle will never break.
